  1. Keep a base resume and role-specific versions
  2. Record an application only after submitting
  3. Plan a specific next action
  4. A fictional follow-up example

Examples are fictional and do not represent customer results. Use only facts you can support.

Keep a base resume and role-specific versions

Maintain one factual base resume. Save tailored versions against their target roles rather than overwriting the base for every application. Use a clear label such as company, role and date. Verify each version before export.

Record an application only after submitting

Exporting a PDF is not submitting an application. Complete the employer's form yourself, then record the submission date and the version used. Keep planned, submitted and closed applications distinct so your tracker reflects actual actions.

Plan a specific next action

Add a reminder for an action you control: check the portal, prepare for an interview or send an appropriate follow-up. Respect instructions in the posting and any timeline given by the recruiter. A reminder does not mean an email will be sent automatically.

A fictional follow-up example

Hello [Name], I applied for [Role] on [Date] and wanted to ask whether there is an update on the hiring timeline. Thank you for your time. Replace the placeholders with accurate details. Do not imply that a recruiter knows you, or that an interview took place, if it did not.

Put the guide into practice

Keep your facts. Review your changes. Prepare the next application.
